Day 1

Arrival in Roseau & City Tour

  • Board your flight from New York to Dominica Airport (DOM). 
  • Get a private transfer to your hotel, “Fort Young Hotel”, in Roseau, the capital city of Dominica. 
  • Begin your historical journey with a walking tour of Roseau, where you’ll explore the island’s colonial architecture, including the Old Market, Government House, and the Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Fair Haven. 
  • Enjoy a welcome dinner at The Great Old House, a restaurant in a restored colonial building offering traditional Dominican dishes.

Day 2

Explore Carib Territory & Kalinago Cultural Experience

  • Breakfast

  • After breakfast, head to the Carib Territory, home to the indigenous Kalinago people. 
  • Visit the Kalinago Barana Autê, a cultural village where you’ll learn about the Kalinago way of life, including their basket weaving, traditional farming techniques, and spiritual practices. 
  • Take a guided tour through the village and listen to stories about the Kalinago’s resistance to European colonization. 
  • Enjoy a traditional Kalinago meal for lunch (on your own) before returning to Roseau for the evening.

Day 3

Explore Roseau’s Colonial Architecture & Old Market

  • Breakfast

  • After breakfast, embark on a walking tour of Roseau’s the island’s capital, known for its preserver for its French and British colonial architecture. 
  • Visit the Old market Plaza, a historic site once used for trading slaves, goods, and produce, now home to artisan stalls selling local craft. 
  • Tour the Roseau Cathedral (our lady of fair haven), a stunning Gothic Revival structure. 
  • In the afternoon, explore Roseau’s waterfront on your own or you can visit Jean Rys house, a literary landmark dedicated to the famous Dominican-born novelist. 
  • Enjoy your free evening dining at one of the Roseau’s local restaurants on your own.

Day 4

Explore Morne Bruce & Dominica Botanical Gardens

  • Breakfast

  • After breakfast, head to Morne Bruce, a historic lookout point that offers panoramic views of Roseau and the surrounding coastline. The site was once used by the British for military defense. 
  • Explore the Dominica Botanical Gardens, a lush retreat filled with native plants and trees, where you’ll learn about the history of the island’s flora and the role of the gardens during the colonial period. 
  • Spend the rest of the day free, relaxing or visiting local markets.

Day 5

Visit Boetica Village & Sari Sari Falls

  • Breakfast

  • After breakfast, visit the village of Boetica, known for its historical significance as a former settlement of freed slaves in Dominica’s early post-colonial period. 
  • Hike to Sari Sari Falls, one of Dominica’s most picturesque waterfalls, where you’ll learn about the island’s early agricultural practices and how communities relied on these natural resources. 
  • Return to Roseau for an evening of leisure.

Day 6

Visit Soufriere & Scotts Head

  • Breakfast

  • After breakfast, head to the historic fishing village of Soufriere, known for its volcanic springs and church built by early French settlers. 
  • Take a walking tour of the village and learn about its significance during the island’s colonial past. 
  • Continue to Scotts Head, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea. This scenic point was once a main battleground during the French and British conflicts for control of the island. 
  • Return to Roseau in the evening for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 7

Free Time & Departure from Dominica
