Upon your arrival in Srinagar, our representative from Swastik India Journeys will greet you and escort you to the White House Group of Houseboats. 

Begin your exploration of this paradise with a half-day tour of the renowned Mughal Gardens, including the Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, built during the Mughal era. 

Enjoy a hot lunch at the houseboat before embarking on a serene Shikara ride on the Dal Lake in the afternoon, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the mountains.

Overnight stay at the houseboat.

Drive to Kargil via Sonmarg

After a delightful morning indulging in tea and a hearty breakfast, embark on an extraordinary journey from Srinagar to Leh via Kargil, traversing one of the most breathtaking and thrilling routes in the world. The drive unfolds with spellbinding vistas as you pass through picturesque villages, eventually arriving at Sonmarg, nestled at an altitude of 2740 meters. Here, lush green fields flank the road on both sides, treating you to a scenic spectacle.

As you journey onward from Sonmarg, the terrain becomes more rugged, and the road is often dampened by the occasional drizzle. You ascend towards the majestic Zojila Pass at 3527 meters, often shrouded in a blanket of snow, marking the gateway to the enchanting land of Ladakh. The drive persists, leading you to Drass, renowned as the second coldest inhabited place globally, where a pause is made for refreshments and passport verification.

Continuing on the path, a few more hours of travel will bring you to Kargil, situated at an elevation of 2710 meters, serving as a pivotal midway point on the journey to Leh. Here, you'll find respite and comfort as you retire for the night at a local hotel- Hotel Apricot Inn Kargil, rejuvenating amidst the surreal landscapes that have accompanied you throughout this remarkable expedition.

Day 4

Navigate towards Leh

Embarking on a full day's journey, we transition from lush green valleys to the stark, barren mountains of Ladakh. Ascending several passes, we encounter the first Buddhist village, Mulbek, home to the towering statue of Maitreya Buddha, believed to be naturally formed. 

Crossing the highest pass at Fotula (4166 m), we arrive at Lamayuru village for lunch, visiting its ancient monastery. Continuing through Ladakh's lower valleys, we pass villages like Basgo and Nimu, catching sight of the Zanskar River merging with the Indus. 

Finally, we reach Leh (3500 m), where we retire for the night at Hotel Palam Hills, entranced by the day's extraordinary landscapes.

Day 5

Exploring the Gems of Leh

Post-lunch, our itinerary includes visits to iconic landmarks in Leh. First, we'll explore the Shanti Stupa, constructed by Japanese monks as a symbol of global harmony. Perched atop a hill, it boasts vibrant reliefs and a striking white dome, emanating tranquility.

Next on our list is Leh Palace, a magnificent testament to 17th-century Tibetan architecture. We'll marvel at its grandeur and historical significance.

In the evening, we'll meander through Leh's bustling local market, indulging in shopping sprees and sampling delectable local cuisines, immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere.

As the day comes to a close, we'll retreat to our accommodations in Leh, cherishing the memories of a day filled with exploration and cultural enrichment.

Day 6

Journey to Khardongla via Nubra Valley

Following a hearty breakfast, embark on a scenic journey to the enchanting Nubra Valley via Khardungla, the world's highest motorable road, standing at 18,380 feet. The winding trail leads to Hundar village, where we settle into Nature's Nest North camp upon arrival. 

In the afternoon, immerse in the serene landscape of sand dunes and encounter the unique double-humped camels, a signature feature of the region.

As twilight descends, we retire to the Apple Nubra Cottage, serenaded by the tranquility of Nubra Valley, cherishing the day's unforgettable experiences amidst nature's splendor.

Day 7

Quick Excursion of Turtuk

Setting off early, we embark on a captivating journey to Turtuk village, renowned for its mesmerizing landscapes and exotic charm. Located approximately 115 kilometers from Nubra Valley, the drive unveils breathtaking vistas along the way, culminating in the quaint village of Turtuk. 

With a population of just 4000, Turtuk offers a unique glimpse into a world where Islam and the Baltistan language prevail, reflecting its historical ties to Pakistan.

Exploring this picturesque village, we immerse ourselves in its rich culture and way of life, engaging with locals and strolling through its charming streets. 

After a day of exploration and cultural immersion, we return to Hunder Village, where our camp awaits, nestled amidst the tranquil surroundings of Nubra Valley. 

Here, we retire for the night at Nubra Ethnic Camp, filled with memories of Turtuk's enchanting allure.

Day 8

Make Your Way to Pangong Lake

Early in the morning, we visited Diskit Monastery for a stunning view of Nubra Valley. 

Then, we journey to Pangong Lake via Shayok. The turquoise waters and breathtaking landscapes of the lake captivate us, promising an unforgettable overnight stay at the Nirvana Resort at Pangong Beach.

Day 9

Head Back to Leh
