Belonging to the Nyingmapa sect of Mahayana Buddhism, it houses a statue of Guru Rinpoche and serves as the base for mountaineering activities and Green Lake trekking. Originally built in 1806 and later renovated in 1969, the monastery features a striking entry gate adorned with a huge prayer wheel.

Situated near Jelep Pass at an elevation of 13,000 feet, this shrine honors soldier Harbhajan Singh, the 23rd Punjab Regiment, who bravely sacrificed his life in the Indo-China war of 1962. The temple, built in 1983, houses Singh's personal belongings and features a wishing pond nearby.
