Drive to Pangong Lake via Thiksey

Way Back to Leh

En route, make a stop at Hemis Gompa, located 45 km from Leh. Re-established in 1672 by Ladakhi king Sengge Namgyal, Hemis Gompa holds significant cultural and religious importance. The monastery hosts the annual Hemis festival in early June, which is dedicated to Padmasambhava.
