During an exploration tour of Valencia's old town, you'll uncover some of the key highlights of this place, such as picturesque alleys, the grand town hall square, and the majestic cathedral with the Miguelete church tower (outside visit), the city's landmark. Admire the Art Nouveau train station "Estación de Norte" and experience the colorful hustle and bustle of the "Mercat Central," immersing yourself in its wonderful smells and intense colors. Across the street, visit the famous silk exchange "La Lonja de la Seda" (UNESCO World Heritage Site), known for its massive columns resembling a petrified palm forest. Built in the 15th century to demonstrate the city's prosperity from silk production, it has been a historic monument since 1931. Explore the oldest quarter, "Barrio El Carmen," with its cozy bars, cafes, craft stores, and galleries. Conclude the evening at one of the fine restaurants with a classic paella or mixed seafood platter paired with a glass of red wine.
Check out Natural Park La Albufera
- Breakfast
Located approximately 12 kilometers from the city, the magnificent nature reserve La Albufera is one of the most important wetlands in the Iberian Peninsula, boasting numerous species of animals and birds. As a bird sanctuary, it is home to 11 endemic animal species. Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Albufera, the largest freshwater lake in Spain, where you can observe flamingos, herons, and jumping fish amid breathtaking landscapes of rice fields. Spend the afternoon at your leisure exploring the noble Eixample district with boutiques, gourmet restaurants, and beautiful art nouveau houses. Alternatively, visit one of Valencia's interesting museums: the IVAM for art enthusiasts, the Ceramics Museum housed in the city's most beautiful palace, or the Museu Fallero, exhibiting select cardboard figurines from the famous Falla folk festival. Conclude your day in the famous Plaza de la Virgen, enjoying the refreshing long drink "Water of València," made from freshly squeezed oranges, cava, and white alcohol—a delightful way to experience Valencia's vibrant atmosphere.
Excursion to the modern "City of Arts & Sciences"
- Breakfast
This morning, we will walk through Valencia's modern landmark, the "City of Arts & Sciences," demonstrating gleaming white, curved shapes inspired by nature. Marvel at architectural masterpieces by Santiago Calatrava, including the steel bridge "Puente de Azud," the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (Opera House), the spectacular Hemisfèric, and the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum (no interior visits). Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure; we recommend visiting the imposing Oceanográfico, Europe's largest aquarium, or relaxing on the fine sandy beaches of El Cabañal's Playa Malvarrosa. In the evening, gather for a final dinner in a traditional tapas bar, savoring freshly prepared appetizers together.
