Helsinki, situated at the intersection of Western and Eastern cultures, embodies this fusion in its vibrant and verdant capital. A sightseeing tour unveils the city's charm, meandering through its harbors, the iconic Senate Square with the Lutheran Cathedral, along central Mannerheim Street, past landmarks like the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, and the Sibelius Monument, concluding with a visit to the renowned Church-in-the-Rock. In the afternoon, an optional excursion to Suomenlinna Fortress beckons—a cultural gem originating from the 18th century, nestled on an island, offering a unique experience for visitors to explore.

• Stay Included

Head to the railway station and board a train to Lappeenranta, where we arrive shortly after midday. Transfer to Scandic Patria Hotel.

During the afternoon walking tour of Lappeenranta, we'll explore its historic Old Town, characterized by charming wooden and redbrick buildings, along with artisans' shops, museums, and inviting cafes. We'll also visit the bustling port area and the imposing Lappeenranta Fortress. Notable highlights include the iconic wooden Orthodox Mary, the Virgin Church, which adds to the town's cultural and architectural charm.

Return to hotel and check-in.

Late afternoon, we walk to the pier to embark on a spectacular evening cruise on Lake Saimaa and to the Saimaa Canal. The ship encounters an exquisite restaurant where we can enjoy drinks and snacks or a full dinner while witnessing the breathtaking views of the Lake. After three hours, we will return to the port and walked back to the hotel.

The day presents an opportunity to leisurely explore the resort town of Lappeenranta independently. Conveniently situated between the Old Town and the port area, our hotel offers easy access to both destinations on foot. Take time to peruse the small boutiques in the Old Town, indulge in authentic Karelian cuisine, or simply soak in the ambiance and vistas at the port.

In the late afternoon, we will move to the train station and departed by train back to Helsinki. Arriving in Helsinki early in the evening, we proceeded to the Radisson Blu Seaside Hotel for check-in, where we could unwind and relax after a day of exploration.
