Before embarking on your entire day's adventure, have your breakfast at the hotel, and then step out to watch the panoramic beauty of the spot and the waterfalls, wildflowers, etc. Meanwhile, we will have lunch in the lap of nature, i.e., within the park. By evening you'll be free. Either relax or explore Estes Park, whatever you like. 

Notable Point: The Permit will be free. You can enter/exit the site whenever you want.
